CCTV is only as good as the way it’s installed. A camera in the wrong spot, cabling that works loose, or a picture that’s useless once it’s dark, and you’ve spent money for nothing. We start with a walk round your property to work out where cameras earn their place, covering the front door, the drive, side access and any blind spots, then plan the runs before anything goes up.
We fit wired HD systems, usually PoE (one cable for power and picture), because they’re more reliable than battery cameras and give a cleaner image. The recorder is set up so you keep enough footage, the cabling is run neatly through the loft or clipped and weatherproofed outside, and the power is taken from a proper fused spur, not a plug hanging off an extension. Then we connect it to your phone, show you how it all works, and leave it tested and tidy.
Because we’re qualified electricians, the power side is done properly and safely, not run off a nearby socket. If you want cameras tied in with security lighting, we handle that too, have a look at our outside lighting.
Tell us the job and your postcode. We usually pick up, and if we’re on the tools, we call straight back.
We look at what’s actually needed and give you a free, fixed price. Hourly work is charged at our published rates.
We turn up when we said, keep it tidy, test everything and hand over the certificates, with notifiable work registered through NICEIC.
For a system you rely on, wired wins. A wired (PoE) camera gets power and picture down a single cable, so there are no flat batteries, no dropped Wi-Fi and a sharper image. Wireless cameras still need power from somewhere and can struggle at the edge of the signal. We fit wired as standard and only suggest wireless where running a cable genuinely isn’t practical.
It depends on the property, but most homes are well covered by three or four, the front door, the drive or approach, and any side or rear access. On the walk round we’ll show you what each camera would see so you’re paying for coverage that matters, not a number plucked from the air.
Yes. We set the system up so you can watch live or play back recordings from your phone or tablet, wherever you are, and set up motion alerts if you want a nudge when something moves. Before we leave, we’ll make sure it’s working on your own phone, not just ours.
We hide them wherever we can, running through the loft, under the eaves or in trunking that follows the lines of the building, and weatherproof anything outside. A tidy install isn’t just about looks; loose, exposed cable is the first thing an intruder goes for. Neat is safer.
If your cameras only cover your own property you’ve nothing to worry about. It’s when they capture beyond your boundary, a neighbour’s garden, a shared drive or the pavement, that data protection rules can apply. We position and angle cameras to cover what you need while keeping off other people’s space, and point you to the ICO’s simple guidance if it’s relevant.
Yes. Alongside homes we fit CCTV for shops, offices, yards and units across South West London and Surrey, often as part of wider commercial electrical work. Tell us the site and what you want to keep an eye on and we’ll put a system together to suit.
Tell us roughly what you want to keep an eye on and send a photo or two of the property, and we’ll come back with a clear fixed price and honest advice on how many cameras you actually need.
