A rewire swaps out the old, tired cabling running through your property for new circuits that meet today’s standards. In a lot of the older homes around Sutton, Wimbledon and South West London that means pulling out perished rubber, lead or fabric-covered wiring that was never meant to last this long. We’ll do the whole property or just the circuits that have had their day, whichever you actually need.
We work room by room, so you can usually stay living in the house while we’re there and keep power on where we can. Floors and furniture get sheeted up, walls get chased and the odd floorboard lifted, then we patch the plaster and make good before we go. Everything is tested, certified and signed off, and you get the paperwork to prove it.

Almost always, yes. Because we work room by room and keep part of the property powered where we can, most families carry on living at home throughout. We’ll talk through the order we’ll do the rooms in so the kitchen and a bathroom stay usable.
It depends what’s there. If only a couple of circuits are tired, say the old lighting or a worn ring main, a partial rewire sorts it without disturbing the rest. If the whole installation is ageing or unsafe, a full rewire is the honest answer. We’ll tell you straight after a look round, and we won’t talk you into more than you need.
Often it is. In a lot of the older homes round here we still find rubber, lead or fabric-covered cable that’s gone brittle and crumbles when you touch it. It’s not something to panic over, but it’s well worth getting looked at. Once it’s perished it can’t be patched, only replaced.
There’s no getting round it: chasing walls and lifting floorboards is dusty work. But we sheet up before we start, clear up as we go, and fill and make good the plaster where we’ve chased so you’re left ready to decorate rather than staring at the brickwork.
Yes. You’ll get an Electrical Installation Certificate for the work, and as we’re NICEIC registered it’s notified to building control under Part P, so it’s all properly signed off if you ever come to sell or let.
