We’re a small, hands-on team, and we’re in and out of SW19 and SW20 most weeks. A lot of Wimbledon stock is older: Victorian terraces near the Village, converted flats in South Wimbledon, 1930s semis around Raynes Park. That means we’re used to the rubber-and-cloth wiring, undersized fuse boards and much-modified junction boxes that come with houses of that age.
Whether it's one faulty socket or a full rewire, we'll turn up when we said we would, chase the cables in neatly and leave you with the certificates that actually matter. You'll get a fixed price before we start, and the bill at the end is the one we quoted.
From a single circuit to a whole period terrace: new cabling, consumer unit and sockets, tested and signed off at the end.
Learn moreOld fuse box swapped for a modern consumer unit with RCD/RCBO protection. Most are done and tested inside a day.

Cables chased in neatly, dust sheets down and the place left as we found it. Most of our work comes from people who had us back or passed our number on.
“I had 63 Downlights fitted, extras on top, cables chased and came back to do small bits in the evening that I forgot to ask for… have used Steel Electrical now on 3 properties. Very efficient reliable and easy to deal with. Highly recommend.”
“A quick, reliable and friendly service from start to finish. Steel Electrical carried out a full re-wire on our 2 bedroom property and were extremely helpful every step of the way. We had no mess and no fuss, the team kept our house really clean and all the work is very neat and tidy. We have already recommended them to friends of ours. 10 out of 10.”
“We have used Steel Electrical for numerous of our projects where we have required an electrical contractor. They are now our preferred partner for Electrics. We would highly recommend them for any project small or large. They are very punctual and professional and the feedback from our customers has always been excellent.”
“Steel Electrical provided a friendly, timely and efficient service, and ensured that lack of power during the re-wiring was kept to a minimum. The site was always left safe and tidy at the end of the day, and everything was thoroughly tested before departure. I would happily use them again for any future electrical work.”
We're on the road across South West London and Surrey daily, so as well as SW19 and SW20 we regularly cover Raynes Park, New Malden, Morden, Tooting and Putney. Not sure if we reach you? Give us a call.
It depends on the job, but you'll know the price before we lift a tool. We quote up front and the final bill matches it. The standard weekday rate is £89 +VAT an hour, with set rates for evenings, weekends and out-of-hours work. The full table is on our rates page.
For booked work we're usually a few days out. If it's a real emergency, like no power, sparking or a burning smell, call us and we'll try to get to you the same day, and talk you through making it safe while you wait.
Yes. We're NICEIC registered and City & Guilds qualified, so anything notifiable is registered under Part P and you get the EICR or installation certificate you'll need for letting, selling or insurance.
Both. We're just as happy adding a socket, swapping a light fitting or chasing down a tripping circuit as we are rewiring a whole house. No job's too small.
All of it: Wimbledon Village, Wimbledon Park, South Wimbledon, Raynes Park, Merton Park, Southfields and the rest of SW19 and SW20. We're out this way most weeks across South West London and Surrey, so if you're just over the border, give us a call.
Send a few details about the job and we’ll come back with a clear, fixed price, usually the same day.
